"

Volunteering overseas had been our long-held wish but it wasn’t until we met Jane Laurie, executive director Fountain of Peace NZ, that our wish came true.We travelled with Jane and the Fountain of Peace NZ Team to Kyenjojo/Rwenjaza in 2019.

We were so impressed with the wonderful work Fountain of Peace is doing in Uganda providing a home, food, education, and general nurture for so many of the most critically vulnerable children. This is achieved through the establishment and maintenance of the Bethel Babies Home for children in the first three years of life and the forever family homes for those over three years of age.

The experience we had working with the Fountain of Peace team was incredible. We were involved in such a wide range of activities including renovating a well for the community of Rwenjaza, giving puberty talks to the children, teaching the staff at the baby home first aid, as well as general activities around the home.Murray spent a lot of time at the hospital and plans had been made for a future surgical camp.It was both a joy and a privilege to be involved and it is an experience that we would highly recommend to anyone".
