We started the year with the excitement of three new precious babies rescued into our care; all from tragic backgrounds but all now with a hope and a future. It is by purpose, in our written material, that we do not mention the actual tragedy that brought children into our care, nor do we link the child’s name to their photo. It is our desire to provide them with dignity and affirmation. I (Jane Laurie – FOP NZ Executive Director) personally try to imagine how the child would feel, when much older, if they saw their photo on our Facebook page, web site or even our newsletter along with all the tragic details that brought them to us. Of course, they will learn their own story when they are old enough to understand and then it will be their full story to tell. We only rescue the most vulnerable orphaned or abandoned little ones who are referred to us by police, hospital or probation, so to be one of the most vulnerable is in itself a tragedy.
Introducing the latest additions … they bring us to a total of 49 little ones in our FOP family. All of whom are precious gifts from God, entrusted into our care to be loved (they definitely are) and who will be encouraged to take hold of all the positive possibilities in their future.
Maybe one of these little ones will be the future PM of Uganda!
