We have Donee Status!

It is official, it is exciting and we are very thankful!

Fountain of Peace Children’s Foundation New Zealand has been granted Donee Status.

The relevant tax bill, Taxation (Annual Rates for 2016–17, Closely Held Companies, and Remedial Matters) Bill had its Third Reading in Parliament last week and the bill was signed off and became law today.

This means that, effective from the 1st April 2016, donations over NZ$5.00 to Fountain of Peace Children’s Foundation New Zealand qualify for a tax credit.

We are extremely grateful to all who have supported us in our quest for this status. It is so appreciated as is the financial support we receive. Together we are changing lives for good.

Our Tax Receipts for the 2016-2017 financial year will be emailed out in April.

We have a new baby…

Born nine days ago he is our 37th baby.
Like all our babies there is a tragic story behind his rescue but we are thankful that all preliminary medical tests have found him safe and healthy.
Little boy we declare you are wanted, you are loved and your life matters!.

Thanks Solar Buddy!

Solar Buddy, an organisation launched in Australia, now has a NZ co-ordinator, Kate Rowland.

Their Buddy2Buddy scheme provides solar lights to children in the developing world from children in NZ.

‘It starts with one small light, given from one child to another”.

Two schools, Kingsview and Remarkables Primary, from Frankton, near Queenstown, are the first two NZ schools to take part in this programme and FOP has been blessed to be the recipient of their support.

97 children attending our Rwenjaza Hillside School recently received their solar buddy lights. What a difference this will make when it comes time for evening chores, doing homework or even when visiting the toilet, which is often outside in the banana plantation.
